New Listings in Highlands Ranch!
Highlands Ranch is a large master-planned community that covers about 22,000 acres and is home to about 95,000 residents. Careful planning ensures preservation of the natural beauty of the area. The development plan allots 61% of the land to be reserved for open space and recreation, 31% for residential development, and 8% for commercial use.
Local residents enjoy the use of an extensive biking and walking trail system that intertwines the community’s diverse residential neighborhoods and provides easy access to parks and golf courses, including the Highlands Ranch Golf Club and The Links. The Highline Canal, and the Highlands Ranch Recreation Centers at Eastridge, Northridge, Southridge, and Westridge are also readily accessed by a trail system. Highlands Ranch homes are a top pick for buyers who are looking for a peaceful community with an abundance of recreational opportunities.
A Wide Variety of Highlands Ranch Homes for Sale
The Metrolist MLS inventory of Highlands Ranch homes for sale is broad and eclectic; there is truly something for every buyer in every price range. Highlands Ranch homes in upper price ranges are selling at a steady clip, but homes priced under $300K are especially hot. This segment of the real estate market offers a few ranch and split/tri-level style houses, but two-story houses predominate. Homes with walk-out basements and those that back up to open space are especially popular. Many have double garages, but Coloradans tend to like a three-car garage for storing all of their outdoor toys.
New home construction is also affordable. Shea Spaces is a case in point. Hallmarks of Shea Spaces homes are affordability (homes start in the mid $200k range,) cutting-edge digital technology, and energy efficiency.
If you are looking for starter homes, your timing could not be better. If you missed out on that first-time home buyer tax credit, don’t kick yourself too hard; today’s low mortgage rates offer more savings than what you would have gained with the tax credit. Highlands Ranch homes are at good prices right now, but don’t expect these market conditions to last forever. Rates could probably not get much lower, and as the supply of foreclosed South Denver real estate listings dwindles, prices on homes are bound to go up. You can still get plenty of house for your money, and you can take your pick of single family houses with two or three bedrooms and about 1500 square feet in entry level neighborhoods like Westridge Knolls, Eastridge Terrace, Shea Spaces, and the Villages.
