55+, Adult communities in Denver Metro

55+ communities are becoming quite popular as the “Baby Boomers” are reaching their retirement age. The first of the baby boomers (those born in 1946) are hitting the standard retirement age of 65 in 2011. There are about 76 million Baby Boomers in the U.S., representing about 29% of the population! With numbers like these, I fully expect to see Adult communities to continue to grow in popularity. Afterall, retirement should be all about relaxation, enjoyment, enrichment… not worrying about the maintenance of a home. Wouldn’t you rather be spending your time with family and making new memories with new friends?

Prices for homes in an adult community vary widely from under $100K to close to $600K plus. They also generally come with a monthly HOA, which will cover the costs of keeping the community low maintenance for the owners.
