Hillcrest – Upscale Homes in Central Highlands Ranch

Hillcrest is a very small, unique, and  upscale neighborhood tucked away behind the shopping center on the northern corner of University Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard. Only about 120 homes line the neighborhood’s quiet cul-de-sacs.

From the early to late ‘90s, builders Richmond and Falcon Homes constructed large 2-story style homes ranging from 2,800 to 4,500 square feet. Some of these homes were built semi-custom with finished, walkout basements that add up to an additional 2,000 finished square feet. These homes also sit on average lot sizes of about .43 acres; nearly double that of most homes in surrounding neighborhoods. The neighborhood has a very private feel with East White Bay Drive being the only street running through it. The rest of the roads in the neighborhood branch off from White Bay Drive and eventually dead end into the cul-de-sacs of Buck Hill Drive, Winrow Court, Roundtree Drive, Rockport Lane, Pinedale Court, and Cromwell Lane. Large, well-manicured lawns and quiet streets throughout the neighborhood add to the stately appeal of the beautiful homes and create an environment akin to a gated community.

Residents of Hillcrest live in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood in a central Highlands Ranch location. Banks, grocery stores, dentists, and many other conveniences can all be found in the shopping centers located on all corners of University Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard. Stores, shops, and restaurants here include Whole Foods, King Soopers, Starbucks, Panera Bread, and Ace Hardware, to name a few.  Park Meadows Mall is just ten minutes away for additional shopping/dining options.

Schools for all ages are close, as well… all within a five minute drive, in fact. Cougar Run Elementary is located just north of Hillcrest, while Cresthill Middle School and Highlands Ranch High School can be found on the corner of University Boulevard and Cresthill Lane. Valor Christian High School is on the southern corner of University Boulevard and Highlands Ranch Pkwy, behind King Soopers. Platte River Academy charter school is on the East side of Colorado.

In addition to great shopping and school locations, Hillcrest is very close to all sorts of exercise activities. On the northern end of the neighborhood, walkers and joggers can connect to the Vista Trail which travels east and west through Highlands Ranch. This trail also connects to the Cougar Run Trail, leading to Cougar Run Park’s playgrounds, sports fields, and picnic tables near Cougar Run Elementary. Active bodies looking for more exercise options can head east to the Eastridge Recreation Center to use the pool, free weights, climbing wall, indoor track, basketball courts, and treadmills. Falcon Park is behind the recreation center, featuring baseball fields, a playground, and a connection to Falcon Trail.

Hillcrest is located in Douglas County, Zip Code 80126.
